My System: 3.7m & 1.8m Prodelin, 1.2m Andrew, Loads of receivers, Orbit & showtime & AFN.

No card needed it just needs to be active via the broadcaster sending a signal to it,

It will do fta channels but is a pain in the ass, I only use mine for afn on 13'e

You will need an ex Yankee war machine decoder for the AFN broadcasts in Europe. Be prepared for as long and frustrating search for an authorised decoder - the ones on Ebay have been deactivated from their authorisations. Two of our members got hold of working examples - their quests took around 2 years each! Working receivers are not cheap - expect to pay £100's for them!

I was ages trying to find one, but now i have one, the only down side is the pic qulity is very bad as they are cut and paste channels i do not use mine that much now, like analogesat said they do not come cheap,

I was lucky as i got two of them from some one in the us army in italy in exchange so a sky uk receiver and card but i sold one the other week to some nice guy who works for BFBS i did try and get a BFBS decoder & card out of him but it did not work but i did get a user guide for the secret pace bfbs cryptoworks decoder from him i can post it up if any one is intrested,

Loads of NFL , MLB , NBA and so on more than you would get on sky uk,

Yes news is ok afn is only ok for news and us sport for programs like c.s.i etc and movies you would be better off with sky,

Also the pic qulity of the afn channels is a joke and even worse on my lcd screen,
