Dustbin lid for a dish

As we are all jolly, anyone tried using a dustbin lid as a dish?

My System: Mostly gathering dust cos I'm a lazy git. Porty dish face blew off the mount, not too pleased...

I'm sure someone here has, I remember someone mentioning using an old metal bin lid in place of a dish...

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

Done over 20 years ago, in the good old Analogue days.
Punch a hole just off centre, poke a broom handle through the hole, attach an lnb to it ,point to the sky and adjust focus for best signal. Couple of "G" clamps held it to the guard rain running around the building.
