Want to make a million in 2007?

Knew that would get attention.

Can someone design a device that reduces the volume of your TV during the adverts?

It's getting worse - ads start - volume jumps.

Come on, there's plenty of clever people here.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I have been consistently informed that the volume is not any louder on adverts and I of course believe the TV companies.

It may of course be that the adverts use more sound compression, work in Mono, or use full level throughout the advert, none of which are done in main programmes. Not really sure what makes them louder, but nine out of ten people who say they are, cannot be wrong.

My System: Sky UK family pack. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (4.6E/5E/13E/16E/19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA (with dragon cam), Coship CDVB 2300A, Fortecstar Lifetime Ultra, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S, 2250kb

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Its generally reckoned to be caused by the compression on the sound in the adverts giving it much more "punch"

At the end of the day the only way to stop it is for numerous people to complain to ofcom and maybe even to the companies behind the worst adverts telling them you wont buy their products. Hit them in the pocket and maybe the practise will cease

My System: Dream7020 and lots of junk all over the place

The louder the better

Here in Sweden we have a law that forbids the raising of the sound while in the ad mode Won´t work on the sat program only for terrestical ones
