Your Annoying TV Adverts Please!

Most annoying for me has to be a one for a home loan company, in which a London born actress with a bad and very fake Geordie accent is trying to borrow £25,000 over the telephone.

The dopey woman could have chosen any time when it was quiet, considering the amount of money and seriousness of the situation she was getting herself and her family in.

But no, she decides a busy Saturday afternoon, when her hubby is looking for his blow-up doll...

"Where is it?!" he shreeks!

'It's under ya bed, you loser!' she returns.

"Can't find it!" he shouts back.

Then her kid shouts for his computer game.

"I threw it out, son, get a blinkin' life!"

Then the hubby still can't find his blow up doll. He comes downstairs dressed in a cocktail dress, high heels and make up.

'I still can't find my blow up doll. What ya doing?' he enquires...

"I am talking to Ripoff-cha about a loooan...YES, I'd like to borrow £25,000 please!"

Err, yeah, like, so casual, like she's asking if they sell ladies curlers! Totally mad, and totally annoying, not to mention patronising and that fake sounding Geordie accent grates on me. I hate that ad!!!

Frog is bad, but in my view that as annoying as someone from London trying to do a Geordie accent...like what's wrong with a REAL Geordie?

Its not so much ad content but the manner in which it is done .Channel 5 will cut the last word spoken and interject the ad into your brain befoe you can switch channels and/or squeeze the film credits to the side of the screen so that they become illegible and scrolled thru so fast a housefly would'nt have time to take off to avoid the the following ad.

My System: 90cm Dish. Dual Lemon LNB for 13E/19E. Twin Output Lemon LNB for 28.8E. Samsung 9500 with 'alternative' firmware. Couple of DigiBoxes. Amateur Radio station. Going Bald with a patient wife!

Pretty much every advert is annoying unless they are clever - as in Guiness ones and the car one that moved like a domino effect. The rest just get on my wick. I rarely watch films on commercial channels due to adverts - can't stand the action being disturbed by ads - whereas in a drama or documentary they are welcome as it gives time to make coffee, tea or pee.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

Adverts that shout at you. I wouldn't use confused.com on principle now.

Those annoying "splitverts" that want you to give money to some charitable cause. And have you noticed its the damned animal charities that ask for more money than the childrens charities.

"poor Fluffy was hit by a car last week. Her treatment will cost over 5000 pounds Will you give just 2 pounds a week to help her recover?"

No I'll wring her bloody neck for you and the problem goes away.

"This is Child X (cut to pic of petty young female) her uncle makes her do things shes too young to understand"

Is he trying to teach her to play monopoly???

Any of the debt relief adverts from any company. What is the point of suggesting that people can run up enormous debts that they have no possibility whatsoever of paying off, then pay back less than they owe "by using little known government legislation"

Brilliant solution - you make yourselved bankrupt and thats your credit rating shagged for ever more.

Ambulance Chasers!!!!!!!
Sorry, compensation solicitors.
"Had an accident, claim your compensation now"

"I was fitting an alarm, I was given the wrong ladder"
WHY DID YOU USE IT....FOOL.

"I was walking across reception, the floor was wet"
LOOK WHERE YOU'RE BLOODY GOING.

NO..... Use your common sense and stop blaming others for your own mistakes.

Heard one over Christmas on the radio , and I don't believe I had cheese on toast that night.

The muppets (ambulance chasers - not the real ones) have a radio commercial, which involves a bus mechanic that is using the wrong axle stands (for some unknown reason) and the bus does it's usual gravity/floor trick.

I am sure I have not dreamt this up. Please put me out of my misery.

Ok then, who in the UK would buy insurance from a company that appears to be Aussie, calls women "Sheilas", and has 3 very unnattractive women singing in an aussi accent in a pink car with scenery that goes the wrong way when they're "driving"....

Then there's their other one with the bloke becoming a cross-dresser.... Gawd!!!

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Must be an age thing, I thought the girls on the Sheilas' Wheels adverts were OK.

I personally get irritated by the new series of Sky adverts where they are pretending to be into energy conservation, particularly the pretentious 12 year old Oik, who tells you to switch everything off. Wonderful, when you consider that the one piece of equipment you can't switch off between use (if you want it to work properly) is your Sky digibox.

I'm adding the Seven Seas Cod liver Oil to this list, not cos there's a giant CGI Cod swimming through the air, but because they don't show how they get the Cod Liver Oil from poor smiley Mr. Cod...

DFS - isn't that the Spandau Ballet guy ??

Advertz that say 4 9 9 and not four hundred and ninety nine pounds do my head in. That WITH the Spandau Ballet guy send me heading for the loo.

Else, in recent times, it has to be Sheila's Wheels....

Actually, I might change that to the new Bravia Paint Fireworks spot.

If the tag line was "Samsung, South Korea like no other" I might say, yes, it deserved an award. As it stands, SONY is my most hated brand. and that spot won an award anyway [probably for most most vapid brand - but original category].

I was an assitant on a job that Mr Glazer (Bravia Director) did some time ago [read: unecessary trumpet blowing] LOL.

Moo.

Probably looked un-dynamic in forward motion - so they reversed it.

If there is someone in-vision and speaking (with the falls in the background) - then its probably a re-versioned dutch spot ;-)))
