So, following on from the monster aerials - FreeView itself. My mate has jumped on the flat panel bandwagon and has two Bravia LCD flat panels; a large one and, er, an even larger one (both, IMHO, totally oversized for the rooms they are in, but he had the 1000's to splash around not me). Both Bravia's have a FreeView and Analogue tuner inside. I found the FreeView quality watchable but definitely ropey - perfectly demostrated on the large and then the larger LCD (sic). As a simple example, just looking at the compression artifacts around static text revealed how ropey a particular channel was. Anyone else have a similar opinion ? .

Perhaps this would have been better posted on the Rothschild forum

My System: comag sl65 (x3) Sad but I like them :-) comag porty II (camping) Pace Prima (analogue) Assortment of dishes. computer: Shiney new Acer | I'm with Topper on this. Tesco's have a lovely Goodmans flat panel on offer for £349 at the moment. It's still a bit out of my league at the moment though. "I owe, I owe, so it's off to work I go"

Its great that I also got the chance to see real-world DVB-T in the UK for the first time I wasn't impressed with either; albeit, the smaller Bravia wasn't that ropey with DVD content. I still walked away favouring satellite over DVB-T and CRT over LCD. Note: Cheap LCD panels = usually mean non native HD resolution. Special note for Topper: I still dream about beasties like this *wink* .

My System: Mostly gathering dust cos I'm a lazy git. Porty dish face blew off the mount, not too pleased... The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken! | In the shop where I work we have a few plasmas and LCD TVs on display, but we gave up on showing Freeview channels on them because the quality of the images is awful, so now we just play DVD movies on them. I have of course offered a spare dish and lending a spare sky box (yeah, not the best box I know, but they ain't having one of my proper boxes!!! ) to better show the TV's capabilities...
