| These are data feeds and are sent in raw data form at the site they use scientific atlanta data receivers that are cpmputer controlled and are linked to the main control center and can be controlled by them via satellite via a two way satellite link i work as a part of a field engineer team that does maintenance and upgrades on transmitters, These feeds are feeds to all dtt transmitters, Thats why if you go near a tv transmitter you will see dishes in fact we replaced a 2.4m dish on 16'e the other week, The reson they are sent to the transmitter as data is that at the mast site they are resent via the terrestrial transmitter to the users dvb-t mpeg 2 freeview receiver, So if you went up to a trasmitter site and put some thing over the LNB & BUC on the dishes like a cloth or a bag they would not be able to have remote access to the mast site and viewers useing DTT on the mast would lose most of their DTT channels unless some one went to the mast site and removed the cloths you put on the lnb's and buc's | ||

| You will not receiver them with a DTH mpeg2 or mpeg 4 satellite receiver it would not work, At the transmitter site you just enter the transponder details in the data receiver by computer and all the channels come up on the pc / laptop screen, Every thing you need to view these channels can be seen on this link http://www.sciatl.com/products/customers/catalog.htm but it ain't cheap you are looking around £40000 mark including software, Unless you pick up some cheap used gear Last edited by Rd100; 10-01-2007 at 01:08 AM | |||

| Most are apart from bbc and itv 1 ch4 which are from microwave links from other transmitters 98% of the time but ch5 has been on most transmitter sites since it started via satellite, Also years ago S4C in wales use to use C-band to feed some remote transmitter sites, | ||
