Likvid, do you know how Bo Wall powers his actuators and what brand of actuators he uses on his 3.7M?

h**p://www.satwall.se/parabol.htm

In particular, the elevation actuator seems very small to lift such a big dish and to withstand high winds.

PS The 'local oscillator' in the 1984 vid is really impressive!

Von Weiss actuator, the best there is.

Yeah i wish i could turn back time, it was a great time back then.

It's no challenge today with digital transmissions.

It's very loud when it's cold outside, better in the summer.

My neighbors are used to it now, they shut the balcony door now when they go to sleep.

Is Bo Wall's 3.7M made from fibre glass or steel? Any idea how much it weighs?

I'm amazed that what looks like a 24" actuator can support and lift it - even a Von Weiss.

He uses an old Volvo truck axle to move the dish.

It's aluminium, Andrew 3.7m in two pieces.

He bought it for nearly nothing several years ago as they was going to send it to the bin.

I beleive it weighs about 500kg plus the weight for the mount.

He got no problems as his neighbor got a tractor to help him lift it.

Watching Bo Wall's video again, the movement of the dish on azimuth is very smooth, but elevation is jerky. Is this real or a problem in the video?

My System: have a 2.40 m Amercian monster + truman Gold starsat + NeotionBox3000 + Mvision + DragonX

thanks m8 for the rare fottage , also the nice trip down the memory lane
had Orbitron 15 years ago , used to like it but the design was very bad as it had only one holder for the feed , and that suffers in wind , end up changing to KTI , better one ... but mesh dishes usually not very good material in windy humid cities (well... both were broken) even though they look more attractive that solid ones
as for the Andrew , i am speechless , dont they do things like that anymore ? you just have to love it , watched the clips many times (in mute ) , sure is a hustle to move that dish from Hispasat to Astra , 2 sets of movements , Horizontaly then vertacaly , who have the time these days ! (well... i'd wank and go to sleep )
can anyone translate the German in the 2nd clip ?

*Orthoclipse : i am a dish freak person , but a 450cm passed being cute to an ugly dish , that needs a contractor to set it up

bring more of the same Likvid please . and if anyone have more of those cute clips and images , plz add it
