I think it is a case of genetic selection/engineering by the farmers who supply KFC, imagine it 4 chicken legs per bird, has to be more cost effective, they could fill a bargain bucket using half the number of birds

Nah, they use the nasty ribcages in the bargain buckets, hence the "Bargain" name....

I always ask for "good bits" and not rib cages or I leave....
