...yup - why did I bother? Reason for getting one - I wanted Channel 4 on the telly in the office where I've got a Sky box - really used for listening to Caroline and BigL on - and I thought "great.....I've got all the Channel 4 offerings....."

Ahh - but I actually haven't - seems Freesat offers Channel 4 and Channel 5 - but not More4 or E4 - which offer some good viewing.

I just hope E4 and More4 get included sometime - I've already emailed Sky to ask why I can receive them on a Freeview box via terrestrial - but not on my Sky box.

I wait, for their reply, sometime.

Leigh....

(Just watching Eurovision - why does the UK enter nowadays apart from our being founder members of the EBU?)

We can't get relegated as we fund more than most of the other countrys..

The song was about 10 years out of date, but who voted it to be our song... The British Public !!!! Thats the worrying bit....

My System: Dm500, TM9100, Pace Sky+ box, 1M Dish. Motect 2100.. 43Inch Plasma, Wii, PS2.

freesat is a con i wouldnt bother lol..

as for eurovision, i also think we shouldnt enter, as wogan said we have no chance because we are not part of a block apart from Malta so we can only get 12 points from them, it was just shear luck ireland voted for us.. and i felt sorry we didnt vote back lol .. poor irish coming last.. did better than last year.. only got nil points..

as for the music, its not music which would top the charts in the uk as we have a very good music industry. i like how the winners serbia was celebrating.. i mean that women looked like a bloke with carole smiley glasses on lol.. and did you see how she thought she was the best singer in europe lol.. dum wits.. and anyhow .. how can any country vote for a song they dont understand the language of??

lets just hope the scandinavians dont win it next year cause if they do they keep it for years..

No point asking Sky Leigh - you need to be asking C4!

Sky just provide the epg entry, C4 choose if the channel will be fta ftv or scrambled.

My System: Motorised dish, dvd players and recorders; a freeview box, broadband, VCRs, four TVs, mobiles, pcs, a mac, Ipod, digital cameras...the lot!

I never understood why Channel 4, Channel 5, and E4 are scrambled on Astra 28 degrees east, yet Film Four is fta.

Must be overtime weekend at C4 as I've just had this reply:

Dear Leigh,

Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries.

While More4 is a free to view channel on most other mediums, Sky Freesat have decided to keep the channel, including More4+1, as a subscription channel.

As we simply provide Sky with the channel, we have no control over how it is broadcast on their service. We hope in the future that Sky will ammend their decision and are currently awaiting a reply from them.

In the meantime to view More4 on Sky Freesat you will need a subscription.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us here at Channel 4, we hope you continue to enjoy our programming.

Regards,

Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries

So - I'll now wait and see what excuse Sky give me.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Ah, so what they are probably saying between the lines, is that the channels are carried free, on the basis that Sky can make them subscription or FTV as they wish.

Well - seems it's nothing new - I'll probably keep my Freesat card in the receiver but take a feed from my son's room and and put one of the £20 Freeview boxes in from the supermarket.

Only really want the Sky box for BigL and Caroline.
