George Melly, jazz singer, writer and art historian has passed away aged 80. A great all- round entertainer with a liking for singing blues in the Bessie Smith style, his loud and colourful singing style matched the loud and colourful jackets I first saw him perform when getting into jazz in the late '50s. My System: Motorised dish, dvd players and recorders; a freeview box, broadband, VCRs, four TVs, mobiles, pcs, a mac, Ipod, digital cameras...the lot! | My bruv liked him. A sad loss, one of the last remaining true eccentrics in the Liberace mode.  | ||
