My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I remember it all well, even bought the record by the tornados, or at least my Dad did.

Good grief Rolf that track hasnt half got some crackles on it.!!

Have a proper mp3 version - without the crackles:

http://telstarlogistics.com/sounds/Telstar.Ventures.mp3

(right click and "save target as" using IE)

Its hard to understand the excitement the new satellite caused these days when we can easily watch 3 or 4 launches a year live. I somehow cant see a record being created to commermorate the launch of Hotbird 9 next year.....

Yes I recorded it off of a youtube live video, don't think your is the original by the Tornados though.

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

Rolfw's is the original, Analoguesat's is a poor copy. I wore mine out by playing it too often. It used to be played over the tanoy when we were re-equipting Goonhilly One back in the 60's.
