just want to thank Robbo for a job well done (installing my system)!!! Got a MASSIVE dish in the back garden - after digging my hole - cemented in. I say massive - its a 1.2m but I really was surprised at its size actually ....neighbour asked if i was a russian spy in disguise!! (well to be fair they have TWO (small) dishes ...so maybe that was a missed opportunity).

Watching my Badr4 and freesat stuff so well happy -even got a decent signal in bad weather so far at least. cheers!!!

Got one before it was installed:-

Just managed to shoehorn in a 28E LNB, was trying to get Hotbird as well, but one of the feedarm supports obscured the LNB.

Believe me, if I had my way, it would be far worse, but further planting of larger specimens was prohibited.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

How much does the insertion of a small child affect Signal Quality?

Unfortunately, I was not able to ascertain this, as the child would not stand still long enough.

Oooh, it;s changed colour!

Did you run out if paint though?

Two cans should do it.

Looks bigger against your boy, you need to get a bigger one, then it would look smaller.

Yep, good bit of digging you did there O , the pole ended up planted about 3 foot deep, that should hold it.
