Question Motorolla A1000 PDA phone. Unlockable!?

Does anyone know if it is possible to unlock the A1000 3G phone?
I've had it for over a year on the 3 network and want to use it on another network if possible.
I've asked a few unlocking places and they don't know how to unlock it.

I figured it must be possible!

What do you recon?

Have you contacted 3? They may charge for it but most networks can unlock your phone after a contract has been fulfilled (I.E. you've had it for the full term of the contract, or if it's a Pay As You Go phone usually about 3 months) so you can switch to another network, if they say that you can't switch just tell them that you have the right to switch to another network and they cannot tell you otherwise...
