My System: Not sure what to put but just a normal sky dish with 1 sky box. |
Hi, new to the site and was hoping I could get some technical info on installing sky in my house. Currently I have just one box in the front room. I would like to have sky in at least 3 other rooms with its own individual box. Is it possible to cut into the cable from the dish to my current box and incorporate a spliter or amplifier then send the signal to the other rooms where i can connect a box on each? Also what cables do I need to run so we can have sky+, hd and any other devices we're likely to have in the future. Now's a good time as we are redecorating. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers | ||

| No you can't cut into cables or use splitters as each serviced Box needs to send switching commands to the LNB. So, you need an LNB with sufficient outputs to feed all your Boxes. One feed per Tuner, so eg a Sky+ Box requires 2 feeds. LNBs are available in single, quad and octo output. If you need more, the approach is different: You would need a Quattro LNB and a Multiswitch. PS: Just noticed you are in the USA .............. No Sky via Satellite there! Am I missing something? Actually, it says US, so USA is a guess: I suppose you could mean the United States of Europe ? | ||
