digital changeover

like many, here in lancashire, we go digital this november (2009).

can freesat, the independent system as opposed to sky freesat, AND sky tv share the same dish?

possibly on a multi output LNB, or Twin LNBs; or are they on different satellites that are too far apart?

if 1 dish is ok, what should its minimum size be? after all both sets of installers would normally only fit a small dish.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Just fit a quad LNB and run an extra cable, or cables to your Freesat receiver, they are on the same satellite.

A standard minidish will be fine. Look at quads or octo's as individual LNb's all housed in one unit.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Malcolm - Freesat and Sky share some of the same channels broadcasting off the same satellites. All thats different really is what appears on the epg's.

The only thing you might have to do is raise the elevation of the dish **slightly** if the weight od a quad or octo lnb makes it droop a little.

Analoguesat's message to the world
Analogue forever!

Great advice........

Do you know how impossible it is to get simple information from an installer, as for sky.... just don't get me started.

next step, on the bus to cpc for a Ł32 quad lnb.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Or get one from fleabay for a fiver ................
