Help! Sky Around The House, FreeSat in each room

This section is for discussion on domestic multi-receiver systems for distribution of both terrestrial and satellite signals. Multiswitch, diplexer, triplexer, earct bonding, smart Priority switch, signal splitter, SCART doubler, video sender, remote extender, etc.

Help! Sky Around The House, FreeSat in each room

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me determine if its easily possible and with what kit to do the following@

I have SkyHD+ which I wish to be able to watch and control throughout the house

BUT I also want to have FreeSat receivers in each of the rooms where the main sky box is not - i.e. to be able to watch Freesat as an alternative when the main Sky Box is being used to watch something people in the other rooms don't want to watch.

I had thought about a domestic distributuon system with the appropriate faceplates - but have not been able to find one.

When I contacted one retailer he suggested I would need an LNB for each feed - but I had hoped to be able to distribute the LNB feed around the house in its raw state to use with Freesat - as well as conventional TV (digital and analogue)

Ideally as I am not at all technical, can anyone offer help as to:

- the viability of what I propose using a distribution system
- any kit (distributer and face plates) that would work
- how to set it up!

Many thanks in anticipation.

Paul

Hi,

Freesat receivers in each room is the easy part. Depends how many rooms you want. Up to 8 single feeds you can use an octo LNB. More than that, you need a multiswitch and quattro LNB.

Don't know about multoroom Sky distribution and control, you'd use the RFout 2 I presume.

Thanks.
Thats annoying - I wanted to try to avoid messing with the lnbs. its a shame there is no way of taking a single lnb feed and distributing it around the house. Thats life I guess.

Yes, not possible due to band and polarisation switching with the LNB.

It can be done with a Fibre optic LNB of course, but they are expensive.
