My System: smatv 5 ski boxes
smatv and sky hd

hi..

i have 4 sky hd boxes workng off an smatv controller.
in the main this has run ok.
Recently however the sky boxes stop showing pictures. signal test show strength and quality to be fine on both inputs but no picture showing.
restarting the box allows it to work.

is this the controller or the new sky firmware, or somehting else

thanks

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Not really sure from your post what your setup is. Is this combined TV and satellite feeds running through a multiswitch and then feeding the Sky HD boxes which link direct to TVs, or are you running through an HDMI controller?

If it's the latter, it may be that the controller doesn't support HDCP and the Sky HD box will not send a signal to it via the HDMI. I had a customer with precisely this problem last week, although it had been OK previously, but he started getting black screens with no audio only, he now has to watch via the scart connection.
