Dish dilemma for multiswitch setup

Hi, this is my first post so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the people for the wealth of knowledge found on here.

Having read up on lots of information on here I still have a dilemma of which dish to choose for a new multiswitch setup I'm about to put into a new build house I'll be moving into soon. I've only had experience of a sky minidish with a sky+ setup and quite often get rain fade in bad weather, so in light of tying to combat this and the fact I believe I need a slightly bigger dish to give extra gain for the multiswitch, I can't decide on what size to go for. I had narrowed it down to either a 60cm or 85cm transparent dish but have since seen lots of good comments on here about the Facarro Penta 68cm and 85cm dishes. Knowing that I will need something bigger than a sky minidish and moving onto a new estate, I wanted something a little more discrete which is why I was looking at the transparent ones, but the brick coloured Penta dishes also look good. Has anyone any experience of how well the brick coloured dish blends in? I suppose it does depend largely on your type/colour of brickwork, but any thoughts would be useful.

A little more info on the setup:
  • The house is in Coventry, West Midlands.
  • I'm looking at using a Triax TMP 5x12 multiswitch.
  • The run from the dish to the multiswitch is about 15m
  • The furthest run from the multiswitch to viewing location is about 12m

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum,

Typically a 60cm is recommended for a single multiswitch set up.

Either dish mentioned performs well enough to use on the proposed system. As you said the red brick FR penta will depend on the type/colour of the brickwork but appears to be more red than brown in my opinion. Also consider the Raven G50 or G70 dish.
