Yes, great setup Hakon,

The switching does look interesting.

You say in your profile that you have five Spuan 420 and one Spaun 410, I would have thought it would be the other way round. How's it all connected?

Hi there, here comes the switchdiagram.I made one in the beginning otherwise i will not know how to connect it all.And its correct its 5 SUR 420 ,as i have one 85cm dish at Hispasat 30w =17LNB.Now with all the Spaun 420 i can connect ewen more switches and LNB just to plug in,nearly no limits Sadly i had only 16 holder so futher i will try out with more LNB at my T-90.

Very impressed Hakon, you have obviously modified the LNB holder rail, do you have any photos on how you did it and what holders you used?

Hi
Yes finally i solved the problem with the crappy plastic LNBholder. With my construction i can still use the original holder ,combined with the new rail.
I also could get a longer LNBguide in an easy way when i used a tube.
Now all LNB can be adjusted more exactly. They can all be adjusted in height, angle ,etc. And theres no problem anylonger with 5e-7e-9/10e,just two degrees makes no problem now.

Some more pictures from the days im finding out "how to"

Brilliant, I presume that the metal holders are standard, just the rail and rail mounts which were fabricated?

Excellent, I understand. So that's a maximum of 64 then.
Three is the maximum cascade level isn't it?

That is a very elegant solution. Extremely well engineered. It is rugged weather proof and infinitely adjustable. Very well done.

Very nice work. How does the dish compare to a motorised dish, is there a loss of signal strength?

Im not shure of the maximum LNB as you can cascade the SUR 420 in Mode 1-2-3 and then an commited switch

How does the dish compare to a motorised dish, is there a loss of signal strength?

Im pretty shure that a 1m motorised dish is quite better,But i dont have the time to get coffe while the Spaun change satellite compared to the motorised dish. And i dont have problem with loss of signal just the weak satellite, 18w 22w and some transponders at 4w.

How much did this all cost you? assuming you installed it yourself?

Im not shure of the total cost.I have not done all at one time, had it for 3 years and the last upgrade this winter.I can only guess,650 EUR/506 GBP
And yes its all done by myself.

I offen get the questian why so many LNB and can you see something interesting at al these position??
And my answer is, I have done it because i can

Exactly!! This is the reason I keep scanning for new channels on satellites I never watch or installing plugins that I never use - it's great fun and you never know when it will be useful

Regarding the motor being slow: I suppose they are slower than what you got, but it does not really take that long. Unless you switch from 30 west to 42 east all the time, it only takes a few seconds to switch from 19E to 1 west...

Still, your setup looks great and I bet it is fun to flick channels

Love the attention to detail. It looks extremely well put together. Where did you source the individual LNB holders?
