Gibertini 1.5m

Here`s my Gibertini 1.5m on a Jaegar 1224 H 2 H motor, and German make Best .1 lnb-f.

I am going to try a Channelmaster feed horn.

Dish is not tracking the arc correctly yet.

M8 I still have the same dish at the side of my house.

When it was up the best LNB setup I tried was the gibertini feedhorn with invacom c120 or the white case sharp 0.3LNB, nothing else I tried could beat it.
You will see a improvement with CM feed I am sure.

OK that's better.

Did not translate but think I know what they are saying.

I also have two of those feedhorns here, Channel Masters feedhorns.

I got one from member snap but never needed to use because one from the USA turned up and I found the narrowband feed better for my needs.

I reckon m8 in your location with that dish if you get the feedhorn and invacom then you will have a very good chance of getting 11919H or 11996H from 7.0w.

The reason I bought it, is that its designed to balance the dish, for less strain on the motor.

And i am impatient wanted it up now!!

is your pole supported with brackets ?

as i got my 1224 up on the pole today and just didn't like it up there due to the weight of it, didn't think it was safe.

so i have to rethink what i'm going to do.

Yes it has 18" T & K`s bolted to my shed, and the pole is 3ft concreted into the ground, with some concrete in the pole, just for good measures!

so i have to rethink what i'm going to do.
Again! Just get it up mate it will be fine

Ok fitted the feed horn,(Thanks Keano) it was an improvement, but still cant get H`s @ 7w!

I tried the feed close in the holder and further out, but the signal was the

same in whatever position. I also measured the different outputs on my

Invacom quad with my satlook micro+

but they were also the same.

Sorry to hear that.

Try 11919H 27500 3/4 at about 07.00 in the morning. This is by far the strongest H transponder on 7.0w.

You may also need to just nudge your dish East or West. Don't forget there is 3 sats at 7.0w which is not a problem when under footprint but for us it is.

Next step is maybe try the gibertini feedhorn. Got to be careful though it can become a obsession and before you know it you've spent a lot of money try to get H beams from 7.0w. To be honest the best thing would be if that is was totally not receiverable in the UK then guys like us would not going spending loads of dosh trying to get it.

My next plan is to try these SMW lnb's. I can still get a few H trandponders but do lose them in heavy rain. The worst one is 11804H this is very weak and can only get early hours of morning.

I think the dish is to small, as My channel master 1.8m struggled to get a lock.

Im not that bothered about getting 7w. I am getting all of the viasat package

at 5E now. Very happy about that.

I am thinking about changing to a Precision 1.8m dish now, as that would also fit on my 1224 nicley

Ill keep an eye out on Ebay

Cant really compare, as the 1.8m was not set up on the arc, needed fine tuning

But I was pulling in all of 7w, where I could not get any of the H`s with the 1.5m Gib

So I would say yes the 1.8m was better than the 1.5m gib

Nice dish Crossbones, can i have a "bigger than" 1mtr dish ground mounted without incurring the wrath of the council legislation ?? of 1.2 mtr max wall mounted.

No anything over 1m requires planning permission. Ground or wall mounted .

Take a risk, I have never had planning permission for my dish`s.
