i once heard that sometimes you can get softcrypted POWERVU transmissions on feeds using a POWERVU decoder with no need of authorization key,but until now i never seen it ,i´m planing to do a proper test on all Powervu channels i can get here in spain ,then post all the findings

My System: andrews dish - jaeger 1224 motor, vantage x221tsci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, cyfra+

channel 5 is on astra 2d now as it has joined the freesat service, so if your dish is big enough you will receive it

we know that but there is also an encrypted version on Astra 2C and a smart card FTV is needed for that ..that will work at least until April2009

hhmm 60€ ,a bit expensive i think ,unless you have it with a feedhorn ,yes they are very good i tested many different ones and this one has that extra difference, guys from german DX board could make a comment about it

Hi Pipino,

I'm just trying to eyeball how deep you have got the Andrew's feedhorn positioned but it's not possible with the pictures that have been posted. I've read somewhere that the feedhorn needs to be as far from the dish as possible as the dish is 0.66 and the feedhorn for 0.60. What have you done here?

One other question: the channels you listed on Astra 2D, did you receive them with the LNB skewed for the arc or skewed for 2D?

if you take the black holders coming on the CM feedhorn pack you can read on one side antenna you put them facing outboard as it pushes the lnb on the farest point from the dish (see the picture below)..tommorow i will retake few fresh snaps and post them here the lnb is skewed on the arc but refined at 24º clockwise on astra 2d ..by the way it will be nice posting some pictures of your system ..best regards

I haven't got it all together yet; been a bit too busy lately. I'm building the concrete base at the moment. I've got everything except the receiver now. As soon as I get it together I'll post some pics.

By the way, what's that LNB? I thought you had a QDF-031.

ok m8,thanx,the LNB in the picture is an Inverto Flange Twin ,works very well specialy in vertical transponders (like BBC HD ,ITV and channel 4+1) but QDF31 beat it for the horizontal ,especialy 10.714 H as i cant see it with inverto ,the picture you see is the first tests i´v made when i started the setup..cheers

If one was to use his imagination why come to a forum

So you mean everytime you move your dish to a C band bird it's always 3° to 5° out?
