Channel Master 1.80 Upgrade in Costa Blanca

well ,Finaly i decided to take down the motorized Gibertini and swaped it with a fixed (for now at least )CM 1.80 exclusively for Astra2,i must say the Dish is simply Fantastic ,design and performance wise,i had to call 3 friends to help me out as its very heavy and being so high in the building it did give us some scary moments , thankfully ,now i do have a Rock solid 24/7 BBC1 signal ..and all Vertical transponders , here is some snaps i toke earlier today ..enjoy ...cheers

I had one made.

My home made C/master mount

Any good fabricator could make you one.

Satellite super store make an ali adaptor that fits the 1.2m polar mount

Looks a bit weak for my liking! specialy in your exposed position!! And over priced!

Hope my pics help you out. If you have any questions please free to ask, ill try my best to help.

My dish did shake, but I put it down too using the wrong size support.

I used a 3" pole, as the original is 4.5" I think?

I did fill it with concrete, but the length from the ground was quite long. I did

try and steady it with T & K`s but didnt work too well. (was located by the side of my shed)

Try to motorize it in the futher, and don't use polar mount for CM 1.2m or jager 1224.

Congrats for your new setup pipino.

I have to agree with CROSSBONES. It would be a pity not to motorize such a nice piece of dish.

In your profile you say there's a Famaval 1.90m in your posession. I would be very interested in hearing if its efficiency is far lower than the much more solid built Channel Master.

Thanks pal. I've just had a look to the specifications: _http://www.famaval.pt/en/tiki-index.php?page=antenas_180 which show that it is not 1.90m but 1.79m. But a Channel Master looks to be better built and last longer in harsh weather conditions.

Unfortunately not, but maybe some people on german boards. What do you want to know except of the f/d ? Since it's >20 years old we do speak of a PFA, right ?

Alright then take some photos tomorrow and think about what you would like to know exactly about it. It might help if you upload the photos on a public available service (imageshack, directupload,..) so that even people having not an account here on this board can access them. This way maybe members from german boards can answer your questions.

We specifically ask members not to do that and instead upload them to the forum, then we know that the photos stay with the thread in perpetuity, rather than get cleaned off the imageshack server.

People only have to register to see the pictures, what is the difficulty with that?

Look, for me it's the same, but i know for sure that there are plenty of people that are either lazy to register in other boards or just don't speak English at all so that even the process of registration is a pain if their native language is not in the choice of the available ones. If particularly these people might be able to help it would be a pity.

I could recommend pipino to register in certain german boards as well but if somebody here could help him this would be the best solution.

Well in this section it doesn't matter whether they are registered or not, as non-registered members can view attachments.

We do try to find answers to questions on this forum, rather than send members elsewhere.
