Hello!
my limit in the west is 45 west, cctv in cband here signal very strong, then the mauntain comes, and absolute zero..!

but there are here many areas where the have much more problems, for receiving astra ,i see some placec the install a 10 meter mast in the landscape far away from the house to catch it.in nabour village the limit is at 34 west ,so here for the situation with everywhere 2500 m high mauntains,i am happy with the result!
the good think is,no wind problems, for big dishes, because the big mauntains, block the wind!
no location is perfect, when you live near the ocean, the salt water in the air destroy you the motors very qickly or what ever..!

My System: C BANDIT

Today I'll upload photos with my next dish a 180cm PFA .I know I worked a lot with the design .First time I wanted to made a black &with dish (knowin that I got a white 6 paneled dish) but when I got it was a lite grey one

I wondered for a while and after a couple of days I decided to use a super red painting. Here are the results

I put also a picture with my current dish.In the photo is on 93,5East! I wondering if I have chance to get 96,5East in C band of course.

In that 2 photos you can see the "viewing" conditions of my dish to the east side.As you can see there are some hills at aprox.12-15Km to my QTH and this can be a problemo. The last photo was made at a hight of 20m , and you can see better the hills I talked about!

With my actual 150cm dish I have never catch 96,5E but I hope with the next one I'll have good results!

Nowadays I made the polarmount!

My System: Strong 4375 - 1.8 channel master offset - inverto 0.3 C120 twin and pauxis C band l.n.b.,s - Vantage X221S CI usb - skystar 2 pc card - Technomate 1500 CI super - + fixed dishes

nice - pics --- the dish looks good

the hills are quite far away -- maybe not a problem --
looking at your location details - 93,5East is 2.8 degrees elevation -for you

i,v put up a 80 cm fixed dish here- ( too small realy ) -for - 68.5°E - K/u band with only 2.4 degrees elevation -- and it works - "just "-
and i have hills 6 miles away .

Indeed ...in word 'Gutted'

My dad owns a small piece of land to the rear of my house..
Certainly big enough to mount a 3 mtre+ dish at ground level ...and has a more or less unobstructed southern outlook..
The land is overgrown with no vehicle access ...and suitable for little else...but no-way would the local council approve such a project..
cest la vie

As it happens Doktor I have a 1.8PF in my back yard ....which I erected 20 years back ..
In those days officials were less inclined to impose restrictions ..providing it wasn't constructed to stand higher the a garden shed..
I'd have a job getting it passed today ..but I don't think they can have me remove it after it has stood without complaint for more than 10 years..
You have no idea how restrictive rules and regs are in the UK ..
Your land isn't your own in their eyes.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Yes there is doktor. UK planning permission rules allow two dishes, with the maximum size of 1m on or around the property.

Of course if you live somewhere remote or no-one can see the dishes its unlikely anything would be said but the local council can not only require you to remove a dish, but if you refuse they can come and remove it then send you the bill!!

Analogue forever!

Yes, what he said.

What the eye doesn't see, and what the neighbours don't complain about is another matter (qv Vipersan...............)

PS @ VS: I can't be bothered with bold and green any more. Back to normal!
