Fracarro Penta 85 (First Install)

Here's a few quick snaps of my first dish install.

It wasn't quite what I started thinking about. First thoughts were trying a £40 special from B & Q to see what we could get (mainly for Russian Channels for SWMBO) After a bit of research here plans changed.

It ended up being a Fracarro Penta 85 on a Technomate 2600 with a TM-6800HD So much for starting cheap and cheerful.

As I've no idea what's behind the red tiles I went for the long scaffold pole route instead of messing around with removing tiles, adding flashing etc to find it didn't work as expected.

I'll probably get someone in next year to sort out putting a short (3ft) pole for it to sit on under the gutter, mid-way between the windows. The extra height should be enough to see 40E for even more Ruski TV.

My System: Cuberevo Twin HD on a 85cm motorised Fracarro Penta dish. Superior Dark Motor. Inverto BLACK Ultra Single lnb (IDLP-SINL40-ULTRA-OPP)

Well done, it looks a good sturdy pole and the fracarro looks good in the red with the tiles. Nice piccys

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Very nice indeed - I agree with the comment about the colour. Blends well.

Nice install Nelbert,

Where are you in the north east? I recognise those sytle houses. I am situated in North Shields.

Did you get your pole from the merchants at the Benton Industrial estate as mine had the same green and yellow markings

Cheers guys.

The pole should do the job, it was a scaffold pole in a previous life

The colours are certainly better than the black/grey things around here. Just a shame FR don't colour the arm or lnb to match the dish

Talking to the guy who did some work behind the tiles on the front of the house, and it's not going to be simple to attach. Might end up with some custom brackets to attach it to the little proper brickwork that goes up to the eaves.

Yes, SGB. They're 5 mins down the road.

I'm in Seghill, it's quite surprising how many of these styles of houses they put up in the Newcastle area. Sometimes only a couple of rows of them.

Good work, nice install .

That looks like a Fracarro LNB. I've used one of those on the Penta 85. They are decent LNBs, but if you have a few pound to spare. I'd recommend the Inverto Black Premium.

I wasn't picking up the MBC beam on 26E at my westerly location until I upgraded from the Fracarro to the Inverto LNB.

Yeah thats the one SGB, I forgot the name of it. Yeah I know what you mean about the houses. Must have been a style of the times when they were built.

As compufunk said about the LNB, I just had a standard LNB on my 1M dish and upgraded with the Inverto Black Ultra and I could pick up alot more channels on 26E than before with the standard LNB.

As said before nice install , I like the Penta dishes
