Why are there F-Barrel conectors so close to the Arabsat and Astra 28 LNB's (and open to the elements) ??

Whatever, I reckon your setup is enough to give any sat lover LNB envy, LOL. *wink*

well thanks!

My setup is under "special" adjustments and whats happening with those sats from right (Arabsat and Astra 28E) is that i need to make some adjusting steps to get the right position so i avoid to touch on the lnb connector directly because i can hurt him....hehehehe i mean i can go off tuning....heheheeh

So i plan to make some adjustments on the lnbs to get a better signal...like on BADR and Arabsat 30.5E....firstly i got a bad signal ratio but now i am getting good on BADR for example and plan to adjust also Arabsat 30.5 cause i got another transponder from tuning during this week!

On motor i have to say that i also have a motorized dish for the west dish i got....but this is a lot more fun and easier for me to get on the sats i want in one time...without having to wait for the dish to get there....and also i avoid some problems with dish alingment.......and motor too....hehehehe

What i want is to have lots of sat available at any time.....and i am getting them.....first i was wondering if this was possible with only a 3/4 lnbs....now i cant wait for get more lnbs on my dish.....just have to know if i can tune some intermediate sats like 10W and others....

triax 1.1m using 3 lnbs of Alps (o.3db) for 13,16 and
19.2. The Alps lnbs are famous when you want receive
satellites that are very close to each other (as in my
case) bcs these lnbs are very thin !
Hi!

Once i had a setup like yours to catch 13,16,19 at same time but my question is: are you getting good reception from both ?!?!!? I guess you have to give some touch on the dish to improve reception or you just center on the satelite you want then get the others on each side without changing nothing and get good signal in all of them?!?!?!

Hi mate heard people saying that they've done things like this in the past basically if money is tight :-

Is a betting shop/house(s)/business closing have a word with the builders for the old dish you'd probably get it for free also the skips near these places are gold mines, just remember you don't need a massive dish or the 'dogs' reciever to get loads of stuff, cue the stories oh go on tell all.lol

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

I started my forays into this hobby when money was tight... My entire first set of equipment was scrounged - my parents went over to sky digital so I comandeered the old analogue kit which duly made its way north in the back of their car on their next visit!

That 60cm dish that came up from Cannock is still in daily use as our sky digital dish (with a new lnb on it of course)

My first 80cm dish came off the side of the road down in town one bin day. The LNB holder had been smashed off but some zip ties and duck tape soon fixed that. Since then Ive had an 80cm dish from a bloke at work, one out of the local woods, one that some kids had jumped on, (I straightened it out using molegrips and a 2lb lump hammer and its now my 5E dish ) and one off the roof of my workplace which was replaced by a Sky minidish.

Ask around - theres plenty of old kit lying around in all sorts of interesting places which can be nabbed for next to nothing.. If its in decent condition, or can be salvaged and tarted up a bit why buy new??

So everyone post pictures and info on your systems and dish installations.

This is a pictorial section, so please "actually upload" your photos using the manage attachments function in advanced posting, please do not link to them.

Externally my little 85cm DiseqC setup, threw it up quickly to test a receiver and it's still there. Attachment 836

Then my Astra 28.2e dish from the skip.

The rooftop terrestrial array, CP, Hannington and DAB.Attachment 838

Internally, the messy bit, constantly swapping things around, so it's never very tidy.

Two PCs, one on the DEN and the other on Satellites plus Trillian.
Digibox, Dreambox and Digiquest 2000.
4 Channel DVR for CCTV on test
Couple of videos, no longer plugged in, must take to dump.
2 Printers, bubble jet and Lazer.
Oh yes and a mini record deck for inputting to sound card for converting Vinyl to CD. (not yet done one though)

I am sorry Rolfw

I donīt have no pics of members setup

I donīt even have one of my own

Go for it - you dont need a fancy set up to begin with - even an old sky digtal dish will give you dozens of extra channels if pointed at 13E or 19E. At a complete stretch you can even use your sky digital receiver for initial experiments, although you will soon get frustrated with it..

Wow that's the first dish i see with simultaneous reception from 23.5E and 30.5E

Do you get any frequency from Astra 3A or is it just for Astra 1D ? And where in Portugal are you located ? Further to the North or to the South ?

Hi Wod

That old bracket to the left looks lonely, a brace the centre of your pole would really stiffen the setup. Hope you don't mind my five eggs??
