Very good Bite, I understand, we had similar on the VHF band
then on 405 lines, then on UHF 625 lines.

At the moment some tests on terrestrial High Defination have been poor, I do notice that even on sat some HD is only comparable to my
excellent quality Sony 29 inch on SD, this seems a weakness of LCD
sets, poor on SD about the same as good SD on crt sets.

my opinion

Thumbs up Updated System

Upgrade originally planned for side wall mounting but due to excessive dish overhang problems onto neighbour’s garden, the system was eventually installed at the rear.

Exposed location, open fields, hence 36v route.

Nice install SM, wouldn't expect anything less, would we

Also must be noted that this polar mount (85cm and 100cm version) is only suitable for up to a 54mm mast. It was a special order from the supplier for longer U bolts and a quick modification that allowed attachment to 60mm masting

12inch actuator on that polar mount ?

My System: Dreambox 500 S, Eutelsat W3A and Intelsat 7 & 10, Sirius 4.8E, Telstar 12

This is a Dream Setup indeed! Can I be your friend?

My interest in Satellite TV actually started with a Sony Betamax C30 Video Recorder. So your setup is actually giving me goosebumps!

Thanks

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Updated pic for the new setup

Top row:

1m Orbital (bought new) 3 lnb's for 16E / 23.5E /28.5E for the DB
80cm - 13E
85cm Fraccaro Penta (was new) - 5E (needs relocating as its slightly too close to the hedge and I cant get the Nordic beams on it since I installed it here)

Bottom row:
80cm - 19E
80cm - 9 & 10E

The three 80's were all second hand. The 13E / 9E dishes were bent double when I got hold of them so I spent an hour straightening them out and they do fine for what I want

Theres a 60cm Sky dish out of shot up the garden as well

Why not put it on the Penta and use the spare for 5e. You said you have to relocate the FR anyway, saves a job. Also we can get the penta reception reports from up North, lol

Sudden improvement in the weather, so here's an up to date piccy of the Tivų Dish Farm.

Pictures of Members' Systems-pict0030-1152-x-864-jpg

The 28E MiniDish at the top has a Quad Output LNB.

The other MiniDish near the corner formed by the Boiler House and the Wall is for 5W.

The ancient "Analogue" Dish towards the right has a Monoblock for 13E/19E.

A DiSEqC switch and an A/B switch allow the Wife to view any of the aforementioned Satellites in her "den" without a Motor and with severely cut down Channel Listings (To keep it simple for the user ............ )

The T&K mounted Motorised Dish is an Orbital 80cm with Twin Output Smart Titanium LNB and is my main Dish for actual viewing.

The Patio mounted Triax TD110 also has a DiSEqC Motor and is used for fa**ying about and for Feeds. The arc is restricted in the range 45W to 19.2E, sadly.

There are other A/B and DisEqC switches scattered around to maximise functionality in whichever room I/we happen to be occupying.

When the farmhouse next door sells, I might try to get them to let me site the Triax in their field just behind my small back garden. At that point, the Motor will probably be replaced by a 36V positioner/actuator.
