When the farmhouse next door sells, I might try to get them to let me site the Triax in their field just behind my small back garden. At that point, the Motor will probably be replaced by a 36V positioner/actuator.[/QUOTE]

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Making use of pre-existing holes in masonry

Easy maintenance

Visual impact reduction (Only the 28E Dish and the 80cm Motorised can be seen from off my property)

The fact that there are several very large trees potentially (and, in some cases, actually) blocking line of sight, thus limiting scope for an holistic approach

"Organic" development (If I knew now then what I know now, it might all be quite different!)

I bet you're glad you asked ................

Oh, ok then - I'll leave all the food shopping in the car and spend time demonstrating to ye of little faith that this is, in reality, a brilliant piece of compromise engineering and not a fudge at all. At all.

The hedge that marks my rear boundary is only a few metres from the Dish Wall.

As can be seen, Trees (Whoppers, too!) are sitting smack in the arc East of 20E.

As can also be seen, the Field behind provides lots of options for the future. Potentially.

Nice set up

...Although as mentioned before Lee, the polar mount bar extension that you have there may work but wasn't designed for coupling the two bars together. There are two small arms that come with this version of polar mount as standard, you can use either one depending on how you mount the jack. You shouldn't need to extend the original bar by joining together. A 12 inch jack will easily allow the mount to reach the polar E&W limits. I asked the questions and that was the answers I got.

If it works then all well and good

eye m8 its mad how its still pinging all the sats with good levells ..im sure paul the reason i had joined the two bars together cause the members on the site were saying it had to be longer ..but as you say m8 you asked the makers and thats what the design is so thats the way it should be with the one bar m8 ..good stuff

not quite m8 .. 42 east to 30 west ..i never really tested any further than 42 due to not much being their ... im pretty limited to 30 west cause of the roof ... one time i did have a mesh dish at the top of the gable end, ..... but it was just to exposed .. i did think of getting bigger pole and seperate brackets a bit take the dish higher ..but me lass did nt like the idea lol .. i also use to think is it worth m8 for whats available ... i would love a ground mount but no chance garden to small and house would tower above the dish restrict east big style ...i live in hope lol

if i had been next door i would of had a very good line of sight ..i supose the only thing about this location is you can really attack nilesat from the back garden ..so a ground mount could work ..i recon that nile sat ( 7 west) would be just off straight out down the street ..so it would every chance of pulling in the verts tps ..

Yes, that's a very nice professional setup NunoV. Best of both worlds, plenty of choice with your fixed dishes plus motorised for those sats 'in between'
