I couldn't get more closer, but you do see a few dishes on the roof of Sport TV headquarters.

It's an old German clone of the Fibostöp Gregorian dishes.

Kreiselmeyer, they don't exist anymore.

Do those gregorian dishes get a better reception than a same size offset or prime focus dish?

The regular offset dish gives you a better reception than a prime focus of the same size, the gregorian is a few percent better than the regular offset.

Actually a Gregorian reflector is performing like a 15% larger offset dish.

That means, a 90cm Gregorian performs like 1,15x90 cm = 103,5 cm Offset dish.

This explains why the Fibo 90cm Gregorian performs almost the same as the Triax TDA110, take note that the Triax is actually 105cm, not 110 cm as some people believe.

Here is a short analysis white paper from SWE-DISH about gregorian dual reflectors:

Gain-wise, the dual-optics antenna has a gain corresponding
to a offset antenna with 32% larger area/departure or a 15%
larger diameter.

Analysis of the dual optics geometry used for the SWE-DISH
antennas show that close to 80% efficieny is achieved.

Dual optics have higher aperture efficiency due to the shaping
of the subreflectors and main reflector.

I didn't realize those funky dishes were that good. When I first thought of getting a dish I looked around and almost no one had a gregorian dish, the ones available here were made by Phillips and Pace, at least they had the Pace sticker on them and were about 80cm big.
Anyway, thanks for the info.

OK here we go.
The first two pics show Lluc monastery up in the hills in the north west of Majorca. Satellite tv for the monks? Are the satellite receivers tuned to porn or god channels?? Or maybe for the school based there? The third pic shows a very rusty Televes dish at Cala St Vincenc the next bay round from Puerta Pollensa. The fourth pic shows Cala St Vincenc again.

And heres the final couple. The first one shows a whopping dish on top of one of the hotels on the seafront at Puerto Pollensa, and the final one is a bizzare sight around the harbour!

A quick comment on the tv reception - our hotel room had about 10 channels tuned into the telly when we arrived - and a dozen when we left

TVE1 terrestrial was awful - lots of co-channel interfrerence, a couple of the others must have been from more distant transmitters, and were barely watchable, although I did follow the Aussie GP highlights on a "snowy" Telecinquo. BBC 1 London & BBC 2 England plus Sky News and CNN were available off 28E for the Brits.

I understand that boats owners in harbour put their dishes on the jetty to get a steady picture.

Looks bigger than an 80cm to me.

The LNB slots onto the dish when needed - no point leaving it to be taken!.

The boat is not berthed in the picture. The boat in the picture is in the next berth.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Certainly looks more like a 90cm/1m dish, truly plug and play.

I would say its a 1m dish. Certainly better built than Lidl stuff anyway - the lnb arm folds up - its hinged at the bottom. As gameboy has guessed the dish actually belongs to the boat just out of shot to the right. (Couldnt get a decent pic though as there was a van parked in the way just out of shot to the left! )
