My System: Digital Telecom
Exclamation How can i start watching paid channels on my FTA receiver

Hey all,

I've always heard of people watching paid television for free by somehow updating their satellite receiver software to decrypt the channels. I've searched a lot on Google for step by step guides but no vain. I currently have a Digital Telecom receiver (product page: h**p://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11501194/Digital_Telecom.html) and the only way i can update it is through the RS-232 port. It doesn't have a card slot.

I have absolutely no idea where to begin in updating it's software as there is so much terminology i don't understand.

Any guides would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks

PS: MODs, sorry if this is in the wrong section, newbie here :P

Hello

Welcome to the forum hamdiya

Well as you are a newbie perhaps I had better explain that this is a self help forum, there is a powerful search button to allow you to search for information you require and a links section which provides links to support sites. As you say it doen't have a card slot then you are limited as to what you can do with the stb. There may not necessarily be anyone creating patches for that stb, you could have a look at this page and look at the support links

Hi,
The procedure varies from receiver to receiver.

The act of putting modified software on the receiver is called "Patching"

In order to "patch" the receiver you normally use a "loader" which downloads the patch from a computer to the receiver often via the RS232 port.

Not all receivers have patches available, or they're way out of date, or they can't be patched conventionally.

Once patched "keys" can are needed to make the patch "open" scrambled channels. Keys can be appled in different ways, amongst them
is via the remote control, or by loading a "softcam".

Whether your receiver can be patched and where exactly you'd get the patch from; I havn't got a clue. It depends if it well supported or not, if one exists.
