My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Not 100% sure, as I haven't owned one of these, but in most cases, you need to start with the receiver switched off at the mains, start the program and then switch the receiver on at the mains.

The receivers with the RS232 port normally require the use of a null-modem cable, rather than a gender bender.

The RX and TX wires (amongst others) get swapped over.
