help needed please

I Have a humax 5400 receiver, but i'm having problems with it recognizing the conax cam, the last software update was done on march 2002, do i need a new software update for it recognize the conax cam ? where do i find this ?

Basically i'm getting about 60% signal and no channels are appearing, i've got the list of channels i can view but when you select them its a blank screen. any idea's. hope i'm right about the receiver not recognizing the conax cam.

A little more info is required here I think. Can you view FTA channels with your receiver?
What card are you wanting to insert into the conax cam?
Has the receiver got patched software or Humax original spec software?
What satellite are you pointing at?
What are you trying to receive?
What signal quality are you getting?
