I have a Fortecstar FSCI 9800 Digital Receiver.

I have seen post to patch various receivers to use the DS9 project. can I patch my receiver. I am using an IRDETO II CAM.

From past experience this receiver is just another clone of equipment made in Korea by Tae Young Telstar

Its badged as Eurosat (Manhattan), Fortecstar (Dubai), Antsat (Malta) and a few others that have jumped on the economy version of a development (still unpaid for in terms of its consultancy) from our company.

Be careful with your dealer as parts are very thin on the ground.

Needless to say, any upgrade comes with no guarantee, even software between the various badging companies, can render the receiver useless

You are right. I connected it to the serial port of the PC (Hyperterminal) and then switched on the receiver. It shows Tae Young Telstar at boot time and then a few more lines. Can you give me the site name so that I can try the upgrade from there.

I just spent for this receiver and cannot go for a new one now.

Their website is www.tytelstar.com, however this has no useful info or software on it, only promotion in broken Engrish

You should really go firstly for www.fortecstar.com as this may have software they can send to you thats correct for your receiver

Other clone sites would be www.antsat.com and www.eurosatuk.com however these would again be different flash memory upgrades with their risk of damage to the memory of other branded units.

Who would have sold you a Fortecstar branded receiver from in Europe and how much? Its destined for the Middle East.

I got the receiver from the UAE. It was the cheapest brand available. Sorry for me that I cannnot do anything now - No flash upgrades, no free TV.
