Humax 5400 AllCAM patch

For several months a group of Dutch satellite hobbyists ("Humax 2000 team") had been developing a patch for the Humax IRCI-5400 receivers, which would convert the Irdeto embedded CAM into an AllCAM capable of decoding the German Premiere-World Betacrypt channels (including BBC-Prime, by the way).

This was ready a few weeks ago but the developers decided they wanted to sell it (ostensibly to recover their costs). A few Dutch and German satellite dealers have since been selling the upgrade (applied by them) for about Euro 75.

Other hobbyists in the Netherlands have now extracted the patch from an updated receiver and made it available for free download.

Please note that the patch only works with original German & Austrian "C-card" MOSCs, or with Voyager in "Betacrypt" mode.
If you want to use it with a wafer, then it must be an Amtel (funcard) type and you will need to load a special version of the wafer firmware too.

I'm looking to buy the humax 5400 and add the Allcam patch myself. What do i need to do this ? How do i connect the receiver to my PC? how do i load the patch software to the receiver ? do i need software to do this? has anyone tried this ? if so what results ? which allcam patch software should i download ? any links please ?

that's a lot of questions.
The patched software can be loaded in the same way as the normal software. Details (cable, loader utility) available at Humax's web site.
