Software upgrade

Hi All
Can any help me for following:

a) What are Hex files? Are code (Seca, viaccess, irdeto etc) files are different than Hex files?

b) Where can i find latest code files? Also loader required for such type of files.

c) Can these files be downloaded to all type of receivers or i will have to enter key using remote control?

Sorry for all above basic question. but as i am new to this. so I hope some senior will definitely help me out.

Dear friends.
To download softwares for Starsat xxxx please visite http://www.satsw.com the official site.

1-hexfiles are files contained codes in hexadecimal base that means numbers from 0 to 9 and letters from A to F. a fun hexfile contains codes for many encryption systems ( 5 or 6 )
2- You can download codes from this link http://www.rdi-sat.com/uploadshow.php?id=11
Loader depends of the type of receiver, if starsat is your receiver's type so you can get from the oficial site.
3-you can do both. for the 150D+ press menu/stb status/ just put don't press type 1234 so a window will be displayed with 4 types of encryption.
to do it by computer you need the loader and a RS 232 Cable ( Humax Cable).

Hi please help me.

for programming my receiver (starsat X-200CI) i did:

1.Went to www.satsw.com.

2.Downloaded item number #11 which is loader(emupgrade)

for starsat and installed in my pc.

3.connect nine pin female+female(rs232c cable) for

connection between pc and receiver

3.Started the loader(emupgrade) and browse for bin file

sr-x200ci (I downloaded this file from www.satsw.com).

4.Checked my current model I.D, h/w version, s/w version

from STB status of my receiver and compared with the

laoded file on emupgrade.

5.my current model (receiver) is h/w ver=2.00 , s/w

ver=2.55 , model I.D=E224 and for sr-x200ci file was hw

ver=7.00 ,s/w ver=2.64 .model id=E224 ??? (after E244

was 3 question mark) therfore I pressed start button

of emupgrade for downloading.

6.Powered off my receiver from backside and restart

again.

but nothing happened !! what is wrong??

(maybe I should say peressing 1234 I

entered STB setting and I deleted all

viaccess codes manually)

please answer me what should I do step by step.

Hi.
I want to update the programof my starsat sr_x200ci receiver but when I press menu and go to Instalation and then press ok on Transfer data nothing happens.
how can I transfer data between receiver and PC.

Unfortunately, that is the last development of sw for your decoder model. I believe this model has been discontinued, and probably they no longer make updates available for this box.....the same is happening with 650plus

Nobody has the time to guide each individual through a process like this. Can I suggest that you first of all input your model starsat 120d into the powerful search facility available and read everything you can find, you may even come across a how to. And welcome to the forum. I do not know your receiver but maybe you should be using a null modem cable.... (mine does)
