My System: AD3000IP, 80cm
Thumbs down Echostar AD3000IP Update problem

Can anyone advise please? I have an AD3000IP which seems to be on version ESC1000 (at least that is what it tells me)
If I try and scan a satellite or add a new TP to an exisiting sat it finds the channels ok but then hangs when it tries to save the info.
Have tried updating the firmware to version 1100 but Download transfers the Firmware (apparently) but then also hangs and nothing is updated.
I have even tried a factory reset and this also hangs the receiver.
The only recourse is to power it off (this still works from the remote)
At least it retains the original channels (factory reset clears the positioner info then hangs but keeps the channel info)
The common thread is when it tries to update the sat and TP info.

Thanks in advance.
Pete

Try shutting it down, disconnect the power cord, disconnect the coaxial cable, wait for ten minutes and then reconnect in reverse order.
Switch it on and try again.
Hope that this helps.
The LNB might have become faulty.

Possibly a full TP/Channel database. The AD3000 is somewhat lacking in channel capacity. Delete a few unwanted TP's/Channels and try a scan again.

First post, joined a few days ago. So lets get a few facts straight.

Are you really sure you have an ad3000ip or do you have an ad3000ipva?

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

I had a similar problem with my 3000 IPVA on one occasion. The channel data base was full. Delete some of the scrambled channels you cant watch and try again.

Spot on to Llew and Analoguesat, I deleted some of the unused TPs (most of them and it now seems to work ok.

Thanks also to Llew for the PSU circuit, I also had a positioner problem caused by R27 (220K) O/C and not providing the initial kick start for the chopper, would never have found it without your help.
Pete

Nice one Peter, thanks for the update. The Echostar 3000 is a lovely receiver I would never get rid of mine even though its been replaced by a Dreambox now.
