My System: Lemon 020s top box
You couldn't be more of a Newbie than me !!!

Ok as the title suggests i am 100% green on the subject of receivers and doing things to them, total newbie !

I've got a Lemon 020s connected up, (I live in Spain by the way) done a channel search and got the usual UK freeview channels up, great. But i see that there's loads of German & other channels that are present but I dont get any picture or sound. The signal strength is nearly %100 but it says "no video signal" ?

Is there anything i can do to receive these channels ? There's German MTV and bits like that i would like to watch. Also i notice that UK channel 4 isn't picked up ?

Are there any general tips that anyone can put into dummy terms for me that will help me out a bit please ?

My friend told me that you can connect the box to your PC and do something which will allow you to watch encrypted channels also but he's gone to Australia ! is this true ?

Hope someone is feeling generous enough to sit down and reply to me haha although i understand that alot of you guys and girls really know your stuff and this is probably so boring for you !!?

Happy new year everyone, look forwards to maybe hearing from some of you soon ....

regards,
Dan

My System: 1.8m PF Dish, most sky and freesat recivers, 80cm on Illusion motor and Dreambox DM7025, TDT

UK TV channels are (mainly) broadcast from the astra 28 degrees satellites. these are the satellites used by the Sly and Freesat services.

German MTV (it was FTA last time i looked!) - and many others - are broadcast from astra 19 degrees satellites.

i would assume your box has many other satellite channels preprogrammed into them and without moving your dish (or having more than one dish) you will not be able to receive all the channels in the list.

C4 broadcast from the (weak for Spain) Astra 2d satellite on 28degrees.
The main channel 4 is on a horizontal frequency and you will not get this 24/7.
you can however on another frequency 12480 as long as you have a sly viewing card as the channels on this frequency are encrypted.

you you can find software on the 'net to reprogramme receivers to allow the viewing of encrypted channels - which is illegal - and there are not may pay tv packages avauilable these days as they all go to more secure encryption methods.
