Hello

Welcome to the forum jon222

Well looks like it may be yet another clone I'm afraid so there is no guarantee that unofficial firmware will be made for it, you should have bought something where there is existing support

I understand it depends on what the processor is and what it is a clone of, I had a look around on Google but could not even find the model listed

No none of that helps it is more like the chipset that is useful and the processor reference from the chip itself, but like I say it is not my scene and searching some of the links in the links forum on this board may prove fruitful

I will not recommend any stb because everyone's needs are different and you have not stated what your needs are and the introduction of HD has just added yet another variable to the vast array of equipment available. If you are looking for free viewing of encrypted channels, there are really not any reliable methods these days, card shares work if there are not many clients on the server but always people get greedy and then everyone ends up with interrupted viewing. The key method is all but extinct with the only open provider Digi tv about to change encryption and they are in the middle of a card change.
