I have an Astra digital receiver and I am receiving the hotbird satellite very good.

the problem is I need to upgrade the software, it really needs to be upgraded, I am searching the internet for 3 days and I found nothing usefull, could you help me?

my receiver details: -

HW: 2.16.00
SW: 1.08.1 A

P.S.: the receiver has usb port, could I upgrade the software through the flash memory??

Hello

Welcome to the forum renon_eg

Well you say you have to upgrade it but why do you have to upgrade it, what is the reason?

hello topper,

thank you for your attention.

it is always better to have the most recent software, for example, I always update my computer operating system and programs, my mobile phone operating system .... etc

this is the point, I would like to have the newest software.
the new software fixes the problems which may be appear because of old software.

am I wrong??

No you are not wrong I personally, prefer to adhere to the IIABDFI method of operation

If it ain't broke don't fix it

Simply flashing an stb with the wrong software or having that update process interrupted by a power cut or similar could render the stb useless or certainly in need of at the very least jtagging.

You must not have been using a good search engine during your 3 day search try using google and search for Astra 8800z, the very first post when I do it is in Arabic on the elwessia.com website and contains downloads, but I know nothing as to their functionality they may damage your stb
