Strong SRT 4622X

Hello,

I have been using Strong SRT 4622X for some months, at the beginning, I heard some people saying that I can unlock some channels by pressing 6969 twice, so I tried, and it worked...
Well, I'm talking about the Disney Channel...
I was able to watch Disney Channel by pressing the keys 6969 for a month or two... but now, this code does nothing, Disney Channel says Scrambled Channel...
After searching and searching this forum, I found the original website of strong, and I downloaded SRT4622X.exe and SRT4622X.stb
BUT, I don't have any cables to connect the receiver to my PC, but I have a USB Flash Memory...
My question is: Can I use my USB to upgrade my SRT4622X?
If yes, HOW? What are the steps? and is there any chances I could lose the receiver because of a wrong firmware (whatever is that) or if the electricity cuts off????

by the way, if it's possible, I want 2 channels to unlock:
- TF1
- Disney Channel

Thank you

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

If the flash fails for any reason then yes you could most definitely ruin the receiver!

ANyway putting the manufacturers software onto the receiver certainly wont work - theres no chance whatsoever the official stuff would allow you to open pay tv channels.

Which satellite(s) do you have access to?? Im not sure TF1 can even be received over in Lebanon

Looks like the dish is pointing to Hot Bird 13E
TF1 is there on the Bis package

You can subscribe to BiS, but you will need to have a receiver with Viaccess support.

I have access to NileSat, HotBird, TurkSat, Astra2Abd... and others but only with a few channels...
and about TF1, I do receive it, but it's locked...

I don't know why, but it's only HotBird and NOT "13E" or something else!

It is HotBird alright. the 13E indicates the satellite position in the sky.
For example Nilesat is on 7W and Astra is on 19.2E (E=East, W=West)

You are going the wrong way regarding upgrading your receiver.
Your receiver has an RS-232 connector (usually a 9 pin D-type connector), and you just HAVE TO buy a null modem cable and connect it to your PC, after downloading the latest patched file.
The cable is very cheap, certainly a lot cheaper than a USB flash.
And NO, you can't upgrade the receiver with a USB flash, as it doesn't have a USB connector.
Upgrading doesn't necessarily opens up any channels, unless there are working keys in the patched file.
You should ask around and see what your friends can watch with a similar receiver. My guess is that TF1 is not open because there is no working keys for it.

The 4622X does have a USB adapter, though whether it allows downloads through it is another matter

I checked the connectors on the back before posting, but didn't see one. Is it in the front?
Anyway, best thing to do is to check the manual and see what they recommend for upgrading. I am betting on the RS-232, as there is no reason for having it, if the customer can upgrade with a USB. (cutting down on the production cost)

I'll search for the "null modem cable" in a store... but where can I find the exact "latest patched file" for my receiver?

More to the point, a 'patched' file to open stuff on 13 East ....
