My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me. | Why do you think you need a Software Update for the Box?

Nor me. | My Fortec Star software is from 2004! Updates are usually provided to cure proven bugs and faults or, for those inclined that way, to enable decryption of certain encryption types. The former won't significantly affect the basic operation of your Box and it retains the basic functions of being able to add and scan any Satellite capable of being received at your location. The latter is now largely a waste of time as encryption methods are now more or less watertight (with one or two exceptions). So if you want to open encrypted Channels, forget it - but if you want to scan for current FTA Channels, that is a core feature of your Box anyway.

Nor me. | Ah yes - we all do that on occasion! I believe that "Unofficial" support (Patches) for your Box ceased over a year ago.
