Magnum/Amstrad digital receiver

Hi
I hope I've posted it in the right place.
I have a Magnum FTA2505 legend digital receiver. as far as I know it is the Amstrad 16100 under a different brand name. I would like to know if indeed it is the same set and if so - if the software updates for the Amstrad are compatible with the Magnun. I was told that the factory in Korea was closed down and that's the reasone that there are no longer updates for the Magnum. (that's odd, because if it is the same factory, then how are updates for the Amstrad?). anyhow, any information about it will be helpful.

need help pls!!!

This indicates that your search will not be very fruitful, however why were you wanting an update as there is almost nothing opening with keys these days?

Thanks for your reply.
I must confess that I'm quite new to the sat thing. I've setup my dish and it's quite fascinating. that is why I was looking for firmware updates. from your reply I understand that they are key unlocking. no need for that.
Thanks.
