PowerVu is a secure system, and you will not find any keys or codes to crack it.

Theres actually very little info around about Power Vu. Its an ultra secure encryption accessed through professional grade receivers made by Scientific Atlanta. Whatever channels you want thats encrypted in it, you can forget about.

The best known broadcaster in Europe that uses PV is The American AFN channels on 13E. Receivers are freely available for these services, but ONLY to accredited members of the American Forces in Europe!

...I might add that having a PowerVu receiver would seem to be be a prerequisite on reading the PDF file.

Receivers often turn up on Ebay, although they are often completely useless for general satellite zapping as they have limited tuning ranges, and are rack mount jobs from broadcast operations.

They also are invariably disabled from the channel(s) they had been used to receive

It seems like we need more brilliant guys to crack the PowerVu encryption and share the goodies to the community. I will wait for any development. Thank you guys for your feedback.

It would be incredibly difficult to break this encryption - the boxes have to be authorised individually by scientific atlanta . However, nothing is impossible in the long term.

My System: Sky X2, Beausat 2004 FTA Plus, Echostar LT-730, twinhan Vision Plus DVB Card. 90cm Nokia Dish, 1.8m Also Manhattan 9650 Analogue

Iam more interested in the PCI end of things. So is there a PCI or USB box for powervu? I watch my broadcasts on the PC so would like to link to that. I work better that way. Or maybe an emulator of a kind. Think about it. Make all work or software level!!!!

No pci card or usb box for powervu. Forget about whatever channels you are interested in for this particular encryption.

Question S.I.S. Racing

Are there any updates in the last 6 months or so on the PowerVU situation at all?

I really want to access the SIS range of channels on the Sirius2 satellite.

They are used primarily for betting shops in the UK, but I want to somehow get round/beat this security so that I can watch it at home on my TV or via my PC.

It costs many thousands to subscribe.

You'd better start saving then, hotlips. No public crack of the PowerVu system available. I promise I'll let you be the first to know if it does

PowerVu D9236 and other models from SA

There seems a policy of SA that they manufacture different models for different vendors. For AFRTS they produced D9223, D9234, D9834 and D9838. All have different specifications. Although normal range all decoders should have 950 to 2150 MHz. But SA limit this range in such a manner that blind serach can not be achieved with one decoder. Normally manufacturers support the customers by making downloads of their manuals and upgrade s/w versions. But SA is not customer friendly. They believe in just milking them and deny rightful support.

I have D9236but its receiver will accept LNB frequency upto 7GHZ only no matter you have linked it to Ku band LNB. Can any one suggest how I can over come ?

More next time
