Cool footprint confusion

Why is it that channels which have the same footprint but different frequencies have different quality levels?

Is there a way to determine which channel will have the maximum quality level because it would be much easier to tune your dish. If footprint is the same?

My System: Dreambox 7000, Skystar2

Different transponders have potentially differing power levels and other attributes.

I don't think that FEC has an impact on the indicated quality level on your receiver, but combined with the SR will have an effect on the quality of the picture. Also polarity can have a pronounced effect on reception. There are many factors.

There is a post in one of the FAQ areas regarding the strongest transponders encountered by enthusiasts for each bird as an aid to tuning dishes.
