My System: 2xPace 430N, 1xNokia MM9800, 1xNokia 80cm Sat Dish, 1xGibertini 120cm, Big Fat Furry Puss

I believe you will find an inline and a null-modem variant for RS232 - perhaps even more depending on use.

Do a google search to learn more

Mark.

The straight is known as simply 'serial lead' and it has pin1 connected to pin 1 at the other ene, pin2 to pin2 etc. The crossed one (diagram above) is known as the 'null-modem' cable, sometimes referred to as null-modem serial which causes confusion. Other feature is the end connections of the null-modem are same gender (female-female usually) and the straight opposite gender. Regards, pcd.
