echostar software update

have a problem with echostar ad-3000ip locks up and won't load some TP's on hotbird,have been email by echostar that i need to update software to 1000 version ,they have mailed me the file

help now needed have file now how and wont do i need the get software to my receiver

You need a loader file (on the Echostar site - or its on the Utilities section here as well on the "Loaders" thread)

Plus a connection cable. Probably a null modem cable for an Echo.

so how do i upload the new software file to my echostar

i have the file on my P C that echostar have mailed me

so connect echostar serial to serial ports on P C via cable?

and ?

iam very new to all this,so help please

Switch off your receiver

Connect your serial lead from your PC's com port to the Echostar

In the Echostar loader, select your com port and baud rate.

Switch on your receiver

Select the Download tab,click on Browse and find your software update (1000?)

Switch receiver to standby, and then to on.

Wait for download to complete. Don't press any buttons while it's downloading!

Click OK in the loader menu, Sswitch the receiver off and remove your cable.
