Question hw

Check the receiver info screen in the menu for the firmware version
and more important, the hw version.
It may be a hw FS01 or SF01.

Post backup

Backup your original firmware with the program sbflash102.exe, you can get it off the net.
You have to run it under win98 compatibility mode if you are running winxp.
Backup many times, and compare each with a hex editor to make sure they are identical.
When you have 2 or 3 dumps that are the same, try loading hevet800/1000 or onwa x2
rigged firmware.

Thumbs up hevet800/1000

Download the latest hevet firmware date-wise.
The hevet500 is the 1meg version.
Go for 800/1000 firmware.

Question hevet

Was the front panel display screwed up also?
If you post your factory firmware I can take a look at it.

The receiver will be sluggish until the keys roll and may freeze up.
menu 9317 on the remote to change the keys manually.

Try a factory reset. And no, I don't know how you do it on that receiver.

Post others

Other firmware that should work on the globo digital 800:
Lazer2003fta (2meg version)
Onwa x2
Goldmaster 8150
Mutech 8500
Sigma 610
To edit the channel list, use SCeditor5.3 or neoboxmanager2.50

I downloaded the factory firmware and tested it on another brand
receiver that the firmware listed above also works.
Said firmware will also work on an FMD SRK-5518-fmd receiver.
They all use PBI brand firmware.

Sorry to kind of hijack this thread, but can anyone help with my Globo reciever at all? I have the 'Digital 5000' model, but all I've been able to find about patching is in Polish! (Although it would make sense as I bought the box over there).
The page I've found is here - http://laki.dvhk.pl/faq/tomy/5000/globo.html - if anyone can provide an English translation or give me a rough idea as to what to do it would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

[Mods: Apologies if any of this is against the rules, I keep my eye on so many forums its hard to keep track on whats allowed where!]

Question ?

The receiver looks like a 400s, but the remote doesn't look like a globo
remote. The sw version doesn't match the factory 400s rev.
If you could jtag it, maybe you could get more info from looking at the
bin file. Could it be a terrestrial receiver?

Hello slugworth thanks for the ansewer
The problem is that i tryed to put in another firmware and i got "stucked",so i went to the orininal site of the receiver, this one: http://www.globo-electronic.de/engli...download_e.htm , and the firmware of the 500 doesn`t work the one that works is the 400s (DIFG01.8A) this one is OK
About the JTAG,i think i will never get the original bin file
I went to the store and they said the receiver is for satelite not terrestrial
Thanks for helping

I don't think there is anything rigged for the 400s, but I will peel an eye.

Digital 800 reveiver

Hello Everybody!

Does anybody have an idea why the teletext does not work on my Digital 800? I put hevet500 onto it (052002.4fix.bin).
At some stations after pressing the yellow button a small menu appears on the screen asking if I want to see teletext or subtitle. After selecting anything nothing happens.
At some channels where the teletext icon is displayed and I know that there is teletext service the teletext is totally dead.

Otherwise the receiver works fine.

I found valuable information here! Thanks for everyone!

Please help if you can.

All the best,

Tamas

Question teletext pid

How old is that firmware? Maybe update to the latest?
Did you scan the channels yourself, or are you using a pre-made channel list?
If you open your userdata bin with sceditor5.3, you can check the ttx (teletext pid)
to see if it is zero, or another number. I never played with teletext settings, that's
all I can think of.
