My System: DB 500 S,Strong 4622, Viasat Denmark card and receiver, Moteck 2100 Motor, Triax1.1 dish, infinty programmer, cas interface2.
Angry RS232 help please

I have just got my TM 7755 receiver , I tried to connectet to my PC using RS232 nul modem , I know how to download the firmware ect but my PC can not detect the new hardware , do I need any software or driver ? any ideas to let this cable work?

My System: Dreambox 7000, Skystar2

I imagine you will have to obtain a small loader app.

Normally you run this on the PC with the cable connected but the receiver disconnected from the mains.

Then you switch on the STB when instructed and the fimware flashing process commences.

MAKE SURE you have the correct firmware, and that you read the loader instructions properly before you get started, or you may toast your new toy.

Thanks alot guys for helping I run the PC with the cable connected and I got the right firmware flashing but the message - close a port or STB on- appear - I don't know what the STB stands for could you please explain more

I keep getting this message

Check COM port please wait

cannot open COM port.. close a COM port or STB power on

I connect the cable to the PC and the receiver and the power is off ..??????

Have you set the com port to COM1 in the loader software and made sure that your computer is not trying to use COM1 for something else ?

I came to this part ..no proplem with the port , but nothing happened no downlaod started and I don't know the instructions as this point to put the power on ? or keep the power off

You generally start with the power off and apply it when prompted to do so by the software.
