Thank you Jack0 for the info.. I have succesfully turned my D-box db-8800 super into ultra. Now I am enjoying the graphical menu.

I initially upgraded it using file silver_SR-X550D_SUPER_20051223.zip first and found out that its not auto update for Dream Satellite (Agila2).

I grab the file silver_SR-X550D_ULTRA_20051223.zip,
Then I close my eyes and cross my fingers while I was doing the next upgrade.... It loaded successfully and I manage to go to the installation menu, selected Agila2(KU) and do a scan.. It quickly find all the channels.
Then I put codes 00's in nagra menu and it changed to a valid key. Now I am viewing all channels..

I am happy now. But still wondering if there are other hidden menu aside from the 1234?

Current Box information now is:
Software version: 3.9.314
Hardware 9.6.005
Loader 2.0.002

I encourage you to try turn your receiver to sonysat 9500 strongly
cause of the latest software avaliable now for your receiver is sonysat 9000&9500 it tested and work well 100%

the method is by first upload cleaner called id truman to erase protocol and all data and prevent the refues to new protocol

this is safefull and tested procedure done as the first step to change your software model to other kind such as from starcom to bright model or sonysat

the most beatifull is starcom 550 ultra but sonysat 9500 excactly the wonderfull and is the one which avaliable at tjis moment with the latest version v316 date 06/01/2006 mean today
test it and you will like it
i now use sonysat 9500 and hope you used too

I did try doing the procedure and updated my Dbox Db-8800 FTA super. It works and the interface is good but it is not yet auto update for Dream Satellite (agila2). So I have to reload the SR-X550D_ULTRA_20051223 file and again I now viewing all the channels.

So for the meantime, I will just enjoy what I have, and will update to sony sat once a new software is available.

Life is getting much much better since I've got v316 for my starsat SR-X650CI Super. But I will appreciate your advise here, Does it also properly works for ID truman conversion from Super to Ultra?

yes it works but you can directly install ultra on super without id truman
id truman first is used to changr from super to bright or sonysat for prevent protocol error it tested for starcom 650 to sonysat 9800 v316 and work well but ultra is more beatiful from sony ofcourse older version
bright is the best tested and you well be better

In fact, I am facing a bit problem since I started with V316, everytime I switch remote control from TVCombo on Hispasat to any other transporder or vice versa, I got beated by a hangup and boot.

I don't know, but I found another modified version on Jan 7 (V303) that opens D+ but I did not test it yet, probely I will test it tonight or tomorrow and ofcourse I will keep u posted, Those are the modified V303

Hi Jack

After a full day of detailed testing for deferent versions of modified 303 and 316 for both super and ultra. I am still convinced with v316 super (with a hangup) which I hava previousely downloaded from satdw.

I tried ultra and it causes more hangups and error signals, and i found it less featured (Less favorate packs) and with the same speed as super. As for modified 303 versus 316, 303 does not update keys to open TV Cabo at Hispasat, 316 open it with a hangup which does half of the job.

Bottom line, super is OK with me now after my trial, I am still looking for a full workable version that opens D+, TPS & TV Cabo.
