Software Upgrade Problem: Fortec Star Lifetime

Hello,

I have a Fortec Star Lifetime with Al7bar(T) 2.64 software boot version
6.0 on it. Yesterday I tried to upgrade it using the software from the fortec star
site. After everything else had been done, following instructions and with
download complete on my PC, I pressed OK. However on the receiver, it
showed as if it was still processing. I waited another 10 minutes but
nothing changed. Then I switched off the receiver and then turned it on.
It switched on and appeared to be processing and then hang up. Switching
on and off again results in the same thing. Then I tried to reload the
software but this failed, saying update failed.

So where did I go wrong? Is there anything else that can be done? Have I just kissed my fortec star lifetime goodbye?

plz download new software and stb loader use new ok

1-u connect pc and reciver
2-power is on ur reciver
3-open stb loader and open in file
4-click on download ok all is ok

i send u new software and his loader plz download it thanks

This is what happening after your suggestions It managed to download the file to the receiver i.e. the Flash File. After 100% (before download complete) in the background I was able to read "Flash Burning...". But then if I try to turn the reciver off and on again, it runs as if it is processing and then hangs again as before. So am still stuck....

Could try Jtagging, some advice can be found on US al7bar forums for your receiver.

For example, _www.bartv.ca or _www.al7barfiles.tk
