Question Beginner's guide to editing keys?

After I have managed to download/upload software, keys and satcdx files onto my STB (Star Sat SR-X 150 D plus) , I would like to edit my own key files.

Does anyone know of a userfriendly "beginner's guide" to this subject?

In particular, I would like to know the following:

Can I simply compile my own keys file, by copying and pasting individual various strings that are included in the different key files available for download on the web (e.g. from softcam files available on satkey.ch)?

Can I simply add one string after the next?

Do I need to adhere to a certain format/style/order? For example, some strings in a softcam file contain the following:

V 007C00 01 ##########################
V 007C00 08 ############# ;TPS France 13°E

Do I need to keep all the characters (including spaces!?) if I copy the string to a new file? Or could I, for example, delete " ; TPS France 13°E "?

If I copy various strings from different softcam files, does it matter whether some lines are contained in the file as duplicates?

Also, I am still not sure about the difference between so called "Mr Key" and "simple" softcam key files. Can anyone explain the difference to me?

Many thanks for your help!!!

You had to go a bit further, and you would find a key editor here http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/...sprune=-1&f=44

Read the threads in that section, and you may find answers to your questions.

Hope it helps

Great, many thanks DeepDiver, and apologies that I missed that thread. That should be of some help.

Best,
